When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” And their eyes were opened. —Matthew 9:27–30a
We often find ourselves needing help as we navigate life’s hurdles. We may face health issues, financial challenges, employment difficulties, or family concerns. No matter the challenges, God has the answers. Do we have the faith to trust His answers?
We must view our lives from God’s perspective, if we are to enjoy and understand it. And that requires both faith and patience! James urges us to be like farmers, waiting for rain (James 5:7–8). We are to wait and stand firm in this life, to work for God’s glory, and trust in His wonderful plan. The two blind men followed Jesus, addressing Him as the Son of David; however, once they entered the house, they acknowledged Him as Lord. Through faith, their physical sight was restored, but more importantly, they were given spiritual sight as well.
Do you believe that Jesus is able to do this for you? What can God accomplish through us individually and together as we truly believe in and follow Him? Let’s continue faithfully giving to Connect: For Future Generations. Let’s share our message of faith with those outside the walls so they, like the blind men, may enter the house acknowledging Jesus as Lord.
