Our desire at FBC is to carry out The Great Commission of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20) by Making, Maturing, and Multiplying disciples. We hope to see every person made into a disciple as they turn from their sin and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We hope to see believers mature as a disciple as they grow in their love of God and obedience to His commands. We also hope to see every believe multiply as a disciple as they lead others to follow Christ and mature in the faith. In order for this to happen, relationships with other people are a crucial component in the process.
Just how can this happen in such a large church? It won’t happen by simply attending every down and then. It won’t happen by merely attending the worship services. They disciple-making process will need to take place in a smaller group of people where Bible study and life can be carried out in personal interaction with others. Just think about Jesus’ life and ministry. Sure, He ministered to and interacted with the masses but He really committed His life to a few in order that they would become disciples who could go and make other disciples! We are convinced that Sunday School is a place where these types of disciple-making relationships can exist, from birth all the way up to senior adults. Our classes meet each Sunday morning at 9:45 AM, and we would encourage everyone to join a group as we seek to live out these purposes:
- to study God’s Word and apply it to our lives
- to build deep relationships with other people
- to care for one another
- to train others to become leaders
- to make “disciple-making” disciples
