Dr. Dan Summerlin recently retired after 40 years in pastoral ministry, most recently serving nearly 21 years as pastor of Lone Oak First Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

He and his wife Eileen have 2 children, James and Jenna, and have two grandchildren, Roman and Hadley. Throughout his ministry he has held leadership roles in both the Kentucky and Southern Baptist Conventions, including serving as President of the KBC and on the SBC Executive Committee. In 2019, he received the KBC’s Distinguished Cooperative Program Leadership Award.
